PayPal Credit | AutoPay Flow

The PayPal Credit team was in need of a thoughtful and empathic design for the auto-pay feature on the native mobile application.  While user research and usability testing were underway for other features of the app, the design language, interaction patterns, and information architecture were well established.  The bulk of the work was in developing the flow of screens given the business constraints for PayPal Credit user accounts.  For example, there was no way to allow the user to select when they wanted to pay their auto payment.  This would have to be hard-wired based on the user's due date each month.  While some would say this could reduce complexity, it brought new challenges as well and could impact abandonment and attrition rates.
